My biggest gripes in Drama:
1. Elizabeth Moss - WTF? This is the kind of thing that makes it hard for
me to get into the Emmys too much. It is not clear to me which Mad Men
episodes qualified for these nominations, but either this year or last year
Moss kicked some serious ass, and she deserves to win an Emmy for her
performance in the last episode of this most recent half season all by
itself. There was plenty of room to put her in either supporting actress or
lead actress. It seems odd to say this about a show that has received so
much fan and critical buzz, but Mad Men is going to go down as one of the
most under appreciated great shows in the history of television.

2. Ignoring the fabulous work of the two stars of "The Americans" (Keri
Russell and Matthew Rhys). To take up Jon's challenge, I would have made
room for them by omitting Dockery and Daniels

3. Ignoing Demian Bichir and Diane Kruger in "The Bridge". Since there
seems to be so much monkey business with the categories, Bichir could have
easily been placed in the supporting actor group, where I would put him
head and shoulders above anyone actually nominated other than Dinklage and
Paul. Kruger is more deserving IMO than either Margulies or Washington, but
if there is some unwritten rule that they have to squeeze in some broadcast
shows, I would probably put Kruger ahead of Robin Wright in season 2 of HOC.

4. The Supporting Actor category seems like a real mess to me. Dean Norris
is a no brainer for someone who should have been there, and for my money
Bob Odenkirk deserves a nomination more than someone like Jon Voight, for a
role that was okay but not extraordinary.

And - what is the deal with the "Guest Actor/Actress" categories? Paul
Giammati was a guest actor on Abbey, as was Dylan Baker on The Good Wife,
but the other 4 guys are regulars on their shows, aren't they? Similar
questions with most of the women in the Guest Actress category - most
glaringly Kate Mara, who arguably was a lead actress in that show, and
apparently went with guest actress instead of supporting actress to avoid
competing with Wright.
