The father of the onetime NBC reporter/sometime anchor, now at AJA, would occasionally show up on C-SPAN back in the heyday of *USA TODAY*, which he helped the late Al Neuharth build, to chat with hosts or bring their cams into editorial board meetings... he rose through the ranks at Gannett's Nashville *Tennessean* paper, briefly leaving to work with the ill-fated Robert Kennedy's campaign, where he was famously brutalized by Klansmen fighting the integration of intercity buses... later on, he was one of the first to expose Wikipedia for the less-than-accuracy of enough of its contents.
