Apologies, I seem to have offended. I was not citing google to prove that
the CC shows really are talk shows, just to dispute the claim that "nobody
calls" them talk shows. Lots of people do call them talk shows, and my
point is that term is broad enough to refer to a variety of formats, though
perhaps your point suggests that a more generic term like "late night
entertainment show" would be more accurate.
