Sorta ironic, considering that one of Allen Funt's battles with Bob Banner, the showrunner CBS forced on the 60s version of "Candid Camera" (because he produced the Garry Moore variety show where "CC" was a regular segment before being spun off into this series) was that Banner forced a series of whitebread co-hosts on him (Arthur Godfrey, Moore's sidekick Durwood Kirby) because Banner could not take the idea of a Jew fronting a show by himself. (Although for the series' last CBS season, Bess Meyerson, noted as the first Jewish Miss America, was Funt's co-host, so maybe not.) And I sorta hold the feeling that Funt never liked the fact that even though Funt co-owned the show with Banner, he was never given a producer credit other than the roundabout "Candid film by Allen Funt" on the credits. (Which in a brilliant credits sequence where the staff popped out of various places with a camera as their names crawled by--and the CBS IBEW engineers were represented by a group of men in black walking through Central Park with cameras--accompanied a man ripping off a travel poster to reveal Funt with a camera, to which he took the camera and broke it over Funt's head.)
