I watched both King on the LLS and Ferguson on King's show.

Nothing to report from the LLS as Craig was content to screw around when he
has a guest who has nothing to offer.

King's show was recorded on the LLS set in front of the desk with both
participants sitting facing each other in chairs. The real problem was with
King's interview style, which we have well documented over the years. Craig
said that he had already done his network exit process when Dave announced
his retirement so that slot was not offered to him. Larry asked him if he
would take it if it had been offered and Craig paused and had to think
about the answer. That surprised me because I thought Craig would have
turned it down immediately because he didn't want network interference and
the changes necessary for an earlier show.

Larry asked if, as reported, CBS paid Craig $5 million for not getting the
Letterman slot. Craig said that was not true. Larry, to his credit, asked
if it was more and Craig laughed and told him to change the subject.

Larry, several times, referred to the end of Craig's tenure as "Craig will
be going off the air in December," and Craig continually corrected him to
say that he will still be on TV, just not on that show.
