The link Ed added said that Discovery got out of ad sales for BBCA in 2008. I don't think I've heard Discovery's sponsor billboard voice on BBCA in some time (which stuck out since for the most part, most of BBCA's voiceovers have been and are British, of course, most notably when John Oliver did that bit involving how to turn on your captioning--although any and all anoraks will know that Trish Bertram, who has never worked for the BBC in the UK, was BBCA's original voice-over when they were still doing British-style IDs with the old BBC1 balloons--"and now on BBC America...").
Speaking of BBCA packaging, last I checked when they do the crossover for the BBC World News simulcast at 6 a.m. ET, there's an ID with a voiceover saying "And now, BBC America presents BBC World News live from London." Instead of David Lowe's boom boom boop boop beep beep BBC News theme, the music used is--"The Awakening," which any Brit will identify as the ITV "News at Ten" theme (and now, the theme for all ITV newscasts). Brits will find that most strange indeed.
