I find this an odd move, given the amount of money they're currently spending to give the stations they just acquired from the purchase of Belo websites and on-air looks that mirror USA Today and really playing up that synergy. I believe that there were even USA Today-branded on air segments when I last watched the morning news from the local Belo-turned-Gannett station.
