Tony Stewart, the current NASCAR "Cup" racer whose reputation was partly built in dirt-track competition, is passing on driving in today's Watkins Glen, NY, event, after a teenage driver in a dirt event, wrecked after a collision with Tony, was fatally injured after doing what I've seen Cup guys do on occasion... stalk the other guy on foot while cars are still moving on the track... walking too closely to a moving car is never a good thing... Kevin Ward was 20.
CNN, f'rinstance <http://www.cnn.com/2014/08/10/justice/tony-stewart-hits-driver/index.html> (link) I can't help but think back to when news-channel types excoriated drivers, say, whose cars failed inspections after qualifying, and wonder if any of 'em will be calling for Stewart's head. There's too much sh!t going in DC or Israel for them to care. B -- -- TV or Not TV .... The Smartest (TV) People!
