He came here from Britain as a kid with dad Dennis, the blubbering Lestrade 
to Rathbone's Sherlock, and would have a forgettable career in film if it 
hadn't been for some guy called... Elvis, for whom he wrote two of his 
typically-wild films, or the cult classic *The Navy vs The Night Monsters*... 
he would hang around Hollywood for a while, whether editing (his first 
craft), writing, or directing into the 2000s, when following his work on an 
inside-the-White-House special for Travel Channel (!) he was hired by the 
Television Academy as producer for several rounds of Creative-Arts Emmy 
ceremonies. At his California home; 79.
