If NBC is going to completely blow up the "talking heads reciting talking points to a credulous host" format that all of the Sunday shows currently hew to, Stewart is completely the wrong guy to do it. Outrage at the very world he'd have to start working within is too much of a part of his persona.
I can kind of get where the idea is coming from, given that NBC News president Debra Turness' home country of the UK has a few comedian-cum-political commentators who I think could probably pull some variation of the MTP format off. -- David J.
