Ridley Scott and Lynda Obst optioned Richard Preston's non-fiction book about the disease, *The Hot Zone,* 20 years ago with the original intent of doing a feature film, but sat on it until seeing the recent reports... Preston is writing a new article on the epidemic for the *New Yorker*, an article from which led to the original book, and which will be worked into the series' treatment before it's pitched to networks...
