I could only find two other stories on this on the internet, both citing
the NYP - I would like to see an independent confirmation. The Tony Mendoza
story has always been an interesting one though.

Maybe I somehow got the wrong idea in my head, but in reading this story it
seemed to me the lead had been buried - it says Dave will be winding it up
in May, and I had been thinking he was leaving in February. I would like
confirmation on that too - Colbert appears to be leaving in December, which
makes sense for a February start at CBS, but not so much for a May start.
