When they announced that Shout Factory was going to rerelease WKRP with as
much original music as they could get their hands on, my initial thought
was, "Wow, that's so great! Gotta give them props for pulling that off."

My second thought was "I do not want the entire WKRP series on DVD."

So I emailed my local library. "Do you accept donations of new items for
your collection? If I were to offer, say, the entire series of WKRP In
Cincinnati on DVD, would you accept it?"

Her reply was, to shorten it, "Hell yes. Just drop it off."

So I'm going to drop the $100 to reward Shout for pulling off the effort,
and the shrink-wrapped box will go straight to the Indian Prairie Public
Library, which effectively makes it available for about 35 additional
libraries in suburban Chicago.

I mention this here not to humblebrag, but to put this idea in people's
minds. If you see something that's deserving of purchase (especially older
DVD sets), but not for you, ask your local library if they'd be interested.
