target you (or someone else) on the internet (and in real life)? I've
mentioned before that my criticism of Michelle Shocked has led to her
trolling me using multiple accounts. She's clearly nuts, she has called
places where she thinks I work (she found a disused LinkedIn account of
mine) to harass me there. She filed a lawsuit (since dismissed) against me
and others. She encouraged her few remaining fans to engage in physical
violence against me and others (she actively tried to get some of her
female critics raped). Getting her Twitter account suspended did nothing
except cause her to have not one but three new Twitter accounts. She's also
targeted me on Instagram, Facebook, and elsewhere where the standards of
suspension are even worse.

I get that we are supposed to have sympathy for the mentally ill, and all
this started because I begged Shocked to get off Twitter and seek help as
she was clearly off her nut. But at what point do we stop excusing the
deranged and start holding them accountable when they try to harm
themselves or others? The specific events I've experienced apparently don't
qualify as criminal offenses, and since Shocked has tried desperately to be
in the same room as me a few times, I've no interest in civil litigation
where I have to sit across from a crazy lady in a mediation or a courtroom.
So what do Lange's victims of verbal abuse do? What do I do? Are we
supposed to just sit there and take it just because the person dishing it
out has mental problems?
