According to a heavily redacted court document, DirecTV is trying to drop Al Jazeera America from its channel lineup because it chose to be an all-news channel instead of the potpourri of "viewer-generated" content and pop culture flotsam and jetsam that was the original format of Current TV when Al Gore and partners bought NewsWorld International from NBCU and changed it into Current--the fascinating thing is that DTV didn't seem to mind when "InfoMania" was shown the door for long form progressive commentary programs, including Keith Olbermann, but now that Gore & Co. sold their channel to an Arabian organization, they want to take it off of their transponder:
