Pitt and the Steelers often play on consecutive days at Heinz Field, and
about the only things they have to change are some field markings and the
signage around the field. There are other cities where college and pro
teams share a stadium (Philadelphia comes to mind). Joe's point about
wiring for the replay system makes sense (it's something that could be
installed at a new venue with enough lead time, but probably not in less
than a week). And it's possible that some of the suggested NFL stadia have
events scheduled for club lounges and the like that would be difficult to
reschedule on short notice.
