To be honest, it's more of the same. Not brilliant, but not terrible. Peter Capaldi is replaced by a new character played by Marc Warren who is camping it up something rotten.
The show is going out a little later in the UK - 9pm on Friday nights - so they've made it a bit sexier, and perhaps the action is bigger. But the plotting is still pretty pedestrian and it still feels like it's being made for a global audience (I believe it sells well), which means that there's nothing too demanding. If you enjoyed it before, you'll enjoy it again.
