I don't deny that there are a lot of ignorant people in the populace, but even the ignorant don't tolerate being talked down to. The funny thing about scientists is most really enjoy talking about their work. When I have a question about quantum physics, I have at least five people I follow on Twitter who work on the LHC at CERN who cannot wait to respond when I DM them. The beauty of the age in which we live is we no longer need a juvenile conduit when the best of the best are only 140 characters away. I know Google+ is a joke, but I've joined Hangouts with people at JPL and NASA. And it isn't an honor or a privilege for me to interact with these people, because literally anybody can do it. That's why when I hear Nye is involved with any media venture, I reject it sight-unseen because I know that media venture can do better but is choosing to go down the lowest of roads. -- Kevin M.
