I am a sucker for any show with some kind of espionage theme, so I have
been watching Allegiance, even though every minute only confirms more
clearly how vastly inferior it is to the show it apparently wants to trick
us into thinking it is, "The Americans", which is my favorite show
currently running on network or cable television. I am not surprised it is
being cancelled - I do find myself holding out some home that it will burn
off on Sunday afternoons sometime this summer.

One or two viewing of those atrocious previews for "The Slap" was enough to
warn me off of that, even though some of the buzz I heard made me want to
check it out. Perhaps the show is better than the previews made it seem (it
would almost have to be) -if so, this may be one of the best examples of
all time of a marketing campaign ruining a programs chances to be
successful.
