I finished it earlier this week, watching all 13 in about 4 days. I enjoyed
it a lot. The only thing I knew about Kemper (who played the Receptionist
in The Office the last few seasons after Pam went to sales) was also paid
off, and there are a lot of nice little things that satisfy as the show
goes along. I see there is a bit of an online thing about whether Fey is a
racist or a sexist or a post-racist, post-sexist. Part of that is
potentially interesting to me, but only after all parties involved have
come clean on the main question, which is, is she funny? I have zero
tolerance for people who basically say all the Dong jokes in Schmidt might
have been funny if they had allowed themselves to laugh, but they were too
noble to give in to the urge to laugh. Being funny does not excuse all sins
- but it does excuse a hell of a lot of them.
