done shows for other networks in the past.  And I recall Clarkson and May 
making oblique references (presumably better understood by the UK audience) 
to such on Top Gear itself - Hammond having a morning show on ITV or 
something.

Hammond's quoted on Wikipedia as saying "amidst all this talk of us 
'quitting' or not: there's nothing for me to 'quit'"
