Eisner told Goldie Hawn (?!?) that beautiful women aren't funny.

This sort of thing crops up from time to time and I try to brush it off,
because to me a woman without a good sense of humor can never be
attractive, regardless of her physical appearance. And there is a tradition
of female comics using their appearance (or allowing their appearance to be
used) to prop up their respective career that ruins it for a lot of funny
women out there.

The problem is that once we get past the generation who distinguishes
between male and female comics, we are going to have to endure another
generation who distinguishes between gay and straight comics, then another
generation who has to contend with the surrounding stigma of transgender
comics.

Genuinely funny people of any ilk are rare. We will never have another
Madeline Khan, but that isn't the fault of the fairer sex... and we should
absolutely keep searching on the chance I'm wrong.
