I think you are burying the lead. In his interview with Lemon, Trump said
that Kelly had: “blood coming out of her eyes, blood coming out of her
wherever.”

Trump later tried to say that what he meant by "her whatever" was her nose,
but even ultra conservatives like Eric Erickson at Red State (extreme
right wing political blog) understood that he clearly was saying that Kelly
was OTR

Erickson has revocked his previous invitation to Trump to speak at a
conservative-fest where many other top GOP candidates will be exhibited,
writing: “I have tried to give a great deal of latitude to Donald Trump in
his run for the Presidency. But there are even lines blunt talkers and
unprofessional politicians should not cross. Decency is one of those lines.”

Trump is a clown and an asshole, and Republican voters should be ashamed of
themselves for giving him so much oxygen. But I think he probably is right
that the FN employees at the debate-like event in Ohio, and movement
conservatives focusing on beating Hillary in the Fall, are starting to move
against him. It has been noted on this list that FN's interest in ratings
and spectacle have been at odds with the GOP's interest in finding an
electable candidate for president - I think we are starting to see that
conflict get resolved.

My part of the social media universe has been divided between those who
though the FN questioners were embarrassing, and those who thought they
asked surprisingly tough questions. I think both are right. They were not
functioning as journalists asking candidates about their positions; they
were functioning as Human Resource Professionals asking tough questions
during a job interview. Most of the questions were variations on "What
makes you think you are the one who is going to help us win back the White
House"? It is this focus that makes me think that even though he was so
bland, Jeb was the winner - because the more the Republicans focus on who
can beat Hillary, and the less they focus on who can best give vent to our
primitive and irrational rage and resentment, the better Jeb looks.
