John McNamara's had an honorable career as a writer and producer - *Lois and Clark*, the short-lived *Profit* on Fox, the 2000s return of *The Fugitive, *his current job on Duchovny's *Aquarius*... but back in 2008 during a guild strike, he found a book on his shelf, a 70s bio of accused-Communist scribe Dalton Trumbo, from which he ground out a screenplay in his spare time... he finally got a studio to bite, and the result, directed by Jay Roach with Bryan Cranston starring, bows this month at the Toronto Film Festival and should hit theaters by November...
