I got to meet her at a convention in Dallas about a dozen years ago, shortly after the birth of her son. It was an awkward weekend because she was exhausted and distracted but it was clear that the wheels had begun to loosen. I hadn't realized that they'd all fallen off so spectacularly in recent years.
