I actually thought CBS did pretty well at showing restraint on its use in last night's matchup between the Chiefs and the Colts, although I did notice one gratuitous shot of the pylon getting knocked over when it was otherwise irrelevant to the play. And in last night's case, a touchdown call got reversed when the pylon cam captured the player's knee on the turf before the ball crossed the goal line, and it looked to me like that call would have stood without it because of the runner's body blocking the view of the ball from any camera mounted much higher.
