I briefly had a subscription to the Global iPlayer, which was their first attempt at this. The show selection was extremely limited and out of date, which is why I dropped it. I assume most others came to the same conclusion, since that closed entirely a few months ago.
Unless there's something more planned for any new service, and the show offerings will be closer to the actual air date, I can't see this being viable.
