Unlike the recent theatrical runs of Doctor Who episodes here in the U.S., the
screening of the Sherlock Christmas special will be after it has aired in the
U.S. and U.K.
Unfortunately, I can't tell from the trailers if the visuals will transfer well
to the big screen.

I might actually consider seeing the "special" in a theater. Certainly, the
acting and the writing are worthy of the big screen. One hopes the retro style
(undoubtedly enhanced with CGI) will be up to the task.
