So here's the weird part of this: as I read back on the articles from last year when this extortion/requirement was announced, everything sounded as though you had to do it within five seasons of the hosting year: you win the hosting rights, you travel. But 50-52 are already assigned, the league has already announced the finalists for 53 and 54, and Kansas City isn't in the running for those. So it appears the league is making it mandatory to just submit a bid.
