I've been trying to get the creator/writer of another cult classic '80s TV series to agree to be a guest on my podcast. He keeps getting called in to network offices who want to buy the rights to reboot the series. He's fully in favor of it, on the sole condition he be the showrunner. But no, they just want the name. They never want the creative forces behind the name -- the ones who made the name known and beloved -- they just want to capitalize on the name with new people.
