I thought the interview went well. Corden is a low key guy and he knows how
to talk honestly about his life and career. It was clear that Maron and
Corden come from very different parts of show business and they managed to
keep the conversation flowing. In the interviews Corden did when he first
got the LLS he was very inhibited and hesitant to talk about himself. He
now seems much more at ease and confident within his limitations (his low
key personality).

As for his meeting with Moonves and Tassler, it sounded to me like they had
already chosen him to be the next LLS host and they were looking for a way
to see if he was interested in the job.
