An important point of clarification: Rose is not in the Hall Of Fame because he's on the ineligible list. He's not in the Hall Of Fame because the Hall decided three years before he became eligible to prohibit players on the ineligible list to be eligible for the Baseball Writers ballot. Then the Veterans Committee announced they would not consider people on the ineligible list.
