Ever since he became part of MGM, I've been wondering if Burnett is going
to do anything with some MGM properties--the Heatter-Quigley game show
format library. Although it doesn't include "Hollywood Squares" (Orion,
which MGM acquired in 1998, sold that format to King World earlier in the
90s and it's now owned by CBS), there are still viable formats like
"Gambit" and "High Rollers" and I'd love to say someone take a shot at a
high-tech take on "Video Village," H-Q's first hit. On the other hand,
since Burnett's shots at game shows have not been all that encouraging
("Are You Smarter Than a Fifth Grader?"), maybe not.
