Joel is one of those artists who no longer has a genre in the world of contemporary music. He never quite fit into the classic rock crowd, and he was too cantankerous for the easy listening crew. But I'd say his voice is one of the best male voices of the last 50 years... unique, resonating, powerful, soulful. And it still holds up.
