I agree with both of these; I can not image either Ditka remaining on television one second longer than legally required, or ESPN ever firing Berman. OTOH, I think it is possible (and maybe this is just wishful thinking) that they will transition Boomer into more of an Emeritus position - maybe do one SportsCenter a week, panel on a number of shows, hell, even give him a 30 minute show of his own once a week at 2:00 in the afternoon. It does seem like ESPN needs to seriously upgrade its NFL pregame show, and having Berman as the anchor is a bit like having Pat Boone host *The Voice*.
