What has yet to be reported is what the breakdown of the $27.5 million is in terms of compensatory vs punitive. If you were following the case, one of the major arguments the hotel made was that Andrews suffered no damage to her career because of the incident, so she's not entitled to compensatory. Further there's some question as to what Tennessee law provides in terms of caps of both types, so that could come into play. Finally, there's a question of what the hotel's insurer would cover in this case depending on how that breaks down.
