Looks like James Corden's feature 'Carpool Karaoke'is being shopped as a standalone series, and they appear to be making the same mistake the producers of "Lip Sync Battle" did. For both, a large part of the appeal, at least for me, was the participation of the host, Jimmy Fallon on LSB and James Corden on CK. I tried, and quickly stopped watching the syndicated version of LSB when I saw it was* *too** produced and lacked the key ingredient, Fallon. Word is that Corden will be an Exec producer of the syndicated CK, but will not host the show -- and that is the same, for me, fatal flaw, taking out the key ingredient.
To make matters worse, LSB is launching a knock-off Caraoke Showdown which features people, in cars, singing. When will TV execs learn that too much of a good thing, and an inferior version to boot, is not the formula for success? When wil they realize you can't produce "viral"? <goog_1365294004> http://www.hollywoodreporter.com/live-feed/james-corden-late-late-show-873953 Ron Casalotti Wayne, NJ -- -- TV or Not TV ....
