lot, but they used to occupy several floors of the old NBC Burbank
building. Now they occupy a room. KCAL and KCBS consolidated to a single
newsteam years ago. Channel 13 KCOP dropped its newscast years ago. KTLA
newscasts frequently use one "anchor" to report local & international news,
sports, weather. Local news no longer employs beat reporters -- no more
in-house experts. Stringers provide the bulk of on-scene footage... no
interviews or data gathering, just footage. "Reporters" setup their own
cameras and audio for live remotes, which puts them at serious risk when
sent to certain neighborhoods or to cover certain stories. And the few
reporters that remain are contractually obligates to waste time on social
media instead of reporting.

Yay journalism.
