The room was more critical than I can remember, though some may have been
getting out their frustration at the President's shots to the media. Or they

I think Wilmore went too long on one bit involving Ted Cruz, but enjoyed both
Wilmore and the President last night. Regardless of who takes the Oval next,
I'll likely go back to watching just the comedian at the WHCD in the future.
Tomorrow night's Nightly will either be really interesting, or still recovering
from the weekend. I don't know how many of the staff pitched in and/or
attended, but I spotted head writer Robin Thede with Wilmore before the dinner.

even Andrew Jackson dropped an era-appropriate slur to his upcoming replacement
on the $20. (Granted, I liked this joke: “I am a black man who replaced a
white man who pretended to be a TV newscaster. So, yeah, in that way Lester
Holt and I have a lot in common.”)
