OK, it seems that BBCA is just tacking Extra Gear onto the first airing of the
new episodes of Top Gear (UK) to get a 2-hour running time. So there may still
be stuff cut out of the show for US broadcast.
As for the new hosts and format, I like it. I don't know the Extra Gear hosts,
but that show seems catered to those who think the mothership should be more of
a proper motoring show.

It seems, at least for the first two episodes of the new series, that BBCA will
run Top Gear in a two-hour time slot on Mondays, with what's presumably an
edited 90 minute version thereafter.
For those who see it in the UK, has the running time changed? If it hasn't,
this probably means that the US audience will get to see the full episode - no
cuts - on broadcast for the first time I can remember.
