There's no evidence of a slippery slope here. As someone else mentioned in this thread, the rich will always be in a position to sue somebody if they don't like what is being said about them. I have a Twitter stalker who has had over 100 accounts suspended for violent threats and abuse, yet he continues to routinely threaten me, my family, my friends, etc. I've filed a report on the FBI cyber-crime website, but I cannot afford to file a civil suit against the lunatic.
In answer to RedBuppy's question, there's nothing to stop the Koch brothers from suing the Times, but that fact was the same before Gawker lost its sex tape case. There's no equating what a news outlet does with what Gawker does.
