I think the journalistic problem here (if that term still applies in any
way to CNN) is that he almost certainly signed a draconian
non-disparagement clause before he went to work for Trump, so he actually
can't say anything negative about Trump, and even more obviously than what
usually passes for punditry on cable news, he is literally being paid to
only say nice things, or neutral things, about Trump.
