Paul Harris recently interviewed Steve Binder, a director and producer of
variety TV shows since the early '60s, for KTRS in St Louis. Binder talked
about working on the TAMI Show and directing Elvis's comeback special in
1969. What I especially found interesting was his description of what
happened on the Chevy Chase late night show, which he executive produced.
Binder was promoting a new book called 26 Fade Up about the history of
variety TV.
