I'll second Kevin on the new film.
As for the new show, I can't figure out if this means CBS is backing away from
the idea of an anthology show, or if the title will change each season along
with the characters and setting. I was kind of rooting for an anthology, as it
might mean some top tier talent will do a Trek role as it would be ~13 episodes
rather than several seasons. For instance, EP Bryan Fuller once expressed
interest in having Angela Bassett captain a starship.
Either way, the people running the show have me optimistic.

In related news, I watched Star Trek: Beyond today. No spoilers but I think, of
the three rebooted films, this film comes closest to the Kirk/Spock/McCoy
relationship that made the original series so memorable. And there were a lot
of fun callbacks to the original episodes.
