Robert Rosencrans, 89, started in the 1950s piping live events like prizefights to hotels and theaters, for the firm eventually called TelePrompTer... later, at UA-Columbia Cable, joined with Madison Square Garden's then-owners to launch the first incarnation of the arena's namesake cable channel, originally shared with the nascent C-SPAN, which evolved into today's USA Network.
