Ward was a Steeler receiver for 14 years and also won the Dancing With the Stars competition. He brought his agent/manager on for an episode and, among other things, talked about managing Ward's transition into post-football life. It was the agent who thought DWTS would be a good way for Ward to build a name among people who do not follow football. The agent said that he contacted the casting director for DWTS while Hines was still playing and it was a long process getting him accepted. After winning the competition Ward now says that if he is recognized on the street it is more likely for DWTS than the NFL. And the popularity that followed DWTS helped him land jobs with NBC Sports and then HLN. IOW, the casting director of DWTS would have no trouble finding a replacement for Lochte if they decided not to bring him into the competition. There is a lot of demand to be on the show. -- -- TV or Not TV .... The Smartest (TV) People! You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "TV or Not TV" group.
