The internet is such a vast wasteland of racism and misogyny that I stopped taking it seriously a long time ago, and had assumed I had become immune to it. For some reason, the attacks on Jones this summer, culminating in this last outrage, is so mean-spirited and dehumanizing that it has really gotten to me, and lowered my already low opinion of the human race.
