This may be a one-time deal connected with the 50th anniversary (today) of the television debut of Star Trek, but BBC America is airing episodes from the first series for the first time. The episodes start tonight at 8:30 (the same time the original series debuted) and are going to be uncut (but with commercials) versions of the remastered episodes. If you can't wait for 8:30, the channel is currently running Next Generation episodes that feature the original series cast.
The run is strictly season one and two, and will air in broadcast order. After one run through both seasons (interrupted in the wee hours by the same Next Generation repeats as this afternoon), BBCA will re-air what it considers the best episodes from the first two seasons (I wouldn't argue with their choices, but YMMV). That should start Sunday night. This might be the first time these episodes have been available on TV in the US since about 2009, right after the remastered episodes were first released.
