There is supposed to be a reminder e-mail sent out in advance of the October 
test dates.  Since you didn't receive a confirmation email I'd make sure they 
have your correct information (and check that spam filter again, just in case).

I do, I did, and I am. Odd I didn't get an email, though. 
Follow up: I've yet to select a test date, as I have not noticed where I am 
supposed to do so. Did I overlook something? If you nice people are already set 
date-wise, I'll email the gods of Jeopardy!

If you have a MyJeopardy! profile (I don't know if it's required for 
registration), you can check your test registration status.  From your 
dashboard, click on the button that says online tests.  A check under the 
sign-up status would mean you are successfully registered for that test.  If 
there isn't a check mark for the Fall 2017 test or that test isn't even listed, 
I'd try the registration process again.
