With no cast announcement to date, having missed two excellent
cross-promotional opportunities (Star Trek Beyond's debut in July and last
week's 50th anniversary), can't say I'm surprised. I'd rather things be 'late'
than rushed.
On a more selfish note, I'd rather another show take the brunt of any technical
issues that might result from CBS All Access dealing with increased demand
(however big or small it might be).

Subject: [TV orNotTV] New 'Trek' Series Delayed Until May
The premiere of "Star Trek: Discovery" on CBS (with the subsequent episodes on
CBS All Access) has been delayed from January to May, as the producers are
indicating production problems--CBS has also announced that the "Good Wife"
spinoff starring Christine Baranski will premiere on CBS in February before the
subsequent episodes stream on CBS All Access:

It should be noted that in Canada, "Discovery" may be seen OTA--Bell Media owns
the rights and could put the show on CTV or CTV Two. Everywhere else but the
U.S. and Canada, Netflix owns the rights.--
